Ross Stores, Inc. Associate SR LP Associate in Carlisle, Pennsylvania

GENERAL PURPOSE:

To assist in the protection of assets of the Ross Stores, Inc. logistics network by performing routine and random inspections and audits of the Security & Safety at the auxiliary storage facilities for the SEDC. This individual must be able to work independently and make decisions related to security and safety of company assets and use extreme confidentiality in respecting employees’ privacy within the Company guidelines and procedures. This individual will provide communication of all activities to the appropriate member of management as well as express all questions and concerns relating to the job to the LP Supervisor and/or Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct safety and security tours of the DC Auxiliary buildings identifying unsafe acts, weaknesses in the protection program, etc.
  • Provide training and support for contract and organic security staff
  • Conduct routine Security and Safety Audits
  • Provide Backfill support to DC Loss Prevention and Safety Teams
  • Assist in the discovery and documentation of fact by conducting basic investigations into associate dishonesty, power equipment accidents, personnel injury accidents, etc.
  • Respond to emergency situations such as medical, fire, weather, hazmat, and security related incidents and take appropriate actions, as stated by corporate policy.
  • Have a full working knowledge of the contents of the Security Procedures Manual and support the printed regulations therein.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 3 years experience as a Loss Prevention Agent or Security Officer (DC preferred)
  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of environmental, safety, health, and loss prevention practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of loss prevention and safety practices, to include knowledge of fire/burglar alarm and CCTV
  • Analytical ability to gather and interpret information and recommend solutions
  • Must maintain certifications in First Aid, Oxygen Administration (if applicable), and Blood Borne Pathogen.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a person of integrity and possess highest ethical standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Requirements: Consistent timeliness and regular attendance. Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer. The job also requires sitting, standing, walking, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.

Occasional Requirements: Job occasionally requires bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 10 pounds.

May also require occasional driving and/or traveling overnight for business functions or site visits.

Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
